ArchiCAD Help

Before you contact support:

Make sure that you have downloaded and installed any updates to ArchiCAD, including Library updates.

Bug fixes for ArchiCAD are distributed through Hotfixes. From version 11 and above, ArchiCAD automatically checks the availability of new Hotfixes, and will tell you when a new one is available. Alternatively, you can use the 'Check for Updates...' command in the ArchiCAD 'Help' menu.

For versions 9 and 10, you can find the latest ArchiCAD Hotfix using the 'Check for Updates...' command in the ArchiCAD 'Help' menu. In ArchiCAD 10, to find the latest Library Hotfix, use the ' Check for ArchiCAD 10 Library...' command from the same menu. For version 8.1 and earlier, please follow this link.

Restart your computer.

Rule #1 of technical issues for any computer issue is to restart your computer and then check if the issue persists. Sometimes this is all it takes.

Use the 'ArchiCAD Help' command from the Help menu.

This is a searchable, hyperlinked version of the ArchiCAD manual. The search and index functions of the ArchiCAD Help can be very useful in finding information on particular functions of ArchiCAD. It is important to understand the function you are having an issue with before contacting support. If you need further help understanding a particular function of ArchiCAD, contact CADDesigns Customer Support.

CADDesigns Customer Support

If you are having an issue with ArchiCAD or any other Graphisoft product, please contact CADDesigns, either by email, or by calling 303.742.0100. We will do our best to quickly resolve your issue, and if needed, will refer you to Graphisoft Technical Support.

Please keep in mind that all technical support from either CADDesigns or Graphisoft is provided free of charge for our customers. Sometimes however, we may determine that the issue is a training issue and not a technical one. If this is the case, CADDesigns will offer our training services for you or your firm at our normal training rates.

Graphisoft Technical Support

If your issue is of a technical nature (crashing, file corruption, etc.), and not a training issue, then the Graphisoft Technical Support Team is who you want to talk to.

You can contact Graphisoft Tech Support either by phone at (800) 238-3992 or by email. Have your client number and version numbers available. You may be asked for your protection key number as well. Business hours for Graphisoft Technical Support are Monday-Friday, 9:00am-8:00pm EST.

You can also visit the Graphisoft US technical resources page where you will find a knowledgebase, downloads and a place to ask questions.

User-to-User Support

One of the benefits of ArchiCAD is it's large, passionate world-wide user base. While there are many sites out there in many languages run by ArchiCAD Users, for ArchiCAD Users, ArchiCAD Talk is by far the most comprehensive forum for users of all abilities and areas of expertise. The ArchiCAD Talk forum is where users can share tips, tricks, questions and answers with ArchiCAD users around the world. Learn to use the search function to see if a question might have already be answered.

ArchiCADWiki is a user edited collection of ArchiCAD articles and resources. This site has a wealth of information available, and chances are if there is something you need to know about ArchiCAD, there is a page here on it. A wonderful ArchICAD resource.
