ArchiCAD 13 supports the classification of architectural BIM elements as load bearing vs. non-load bearing structures for better export to the structural engineer. Thousands of standard steel products are now available from within ArchiCAD 13.

• Standard Steel Column/Beam Profiles
You can access thousands of standard profiles from a worldwide industry standard profile database. These profiles can then be used when placing Columns or Beams. During the data exchange process, structural engineering programs will recognize and identify such standard elements accurately and completely, without requiring any settings adjustments.

• Define Load-Bearing/Non-Load-Bearing Structure
Walls, Beams, Columns, and Slabs can now be defined as either Load-bearing or Non-load-bearing. This is useful when exchanging data with structural programs.

• Graphisoft MEP Modeler
This add-on can be used to directly import MEP systems into ArchiCAD from Autodesk AutoCAD MEP 2008 and 2009 applications. All AutoCAD MEP systems are identified and automatically converted to native ArchiCAD MEP elements.
